About the Role

The successful candidate will teach a Year 2 class, supporting pupils as they prepare for Key Stage 1 SATs and transition into Key Stage 2. You will deliver engaging and structured lessons that support academic progress while also fostering creativity and confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum

• Preparing pupils for Key Stage 1 SATs assessments

• Supporting pupils’ development in reading, writing, and mathematics

• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular feedback

• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff

• Building strong relationships with parents and carers

• Contributing to wider school activities and curriculum development

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum

• Have experience preparing pupils for SATs assessments

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills

• Be organised, proactive, and committed to high standards

• Work effectively within a collaborative team
