About the Role
The successful candidate will teach a Year 2 class, supporting pupils as they prepare for Key Stage 1 SATs and transition into Key Stage 2. You will deliver engaging and structured lessons that support academic progress while also fostering creativity and confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
Preparing pupils for Key Stage 1 SATs assessments
Supporting pupils’ development in reading, writing, and mathematics
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular feedback
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff
Building strong relationships with parents and carers
Contributing to wider school activities and curriculum development
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
Have experience preparing pupils for SATs assessments
Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
Be organised, proactive, and committed to high standards
Work effectively within a collaborative team
