The Library

The school library is a central hub of learning, designed to support both academic study and a love of reading. The Role

The school is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Librarian to manage and develop the library provision. You will play a key role in fostering a reading culture, supporting curriculum delivery, and ensuring students have access to high-quality resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the school library

• Promote reading for pleasure through events, displays, and initiatives

• Support students with research and independent study

• Maintain and develop the library catalogue and resources

• Work with teaching staff to support curriculum needs

• Organise author visits, reading programmes, and literacy events

• Ensure the library remains a welcoming and inclusive environment

What We Are Looking For

• Experience working in a library or educational setting

• Strong organisational and cataloguing skills

• Passion for reading and literacy development

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to engage and inspire young people

• Familiarity with library management systems (desirable)
