The Library
The school library is a central hub of learning, designed to support both academic study and a love of reading. The Role
The school is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Librarian to manage and develop the library provision. You will play a key role in fostering a reading culture, supporting curriculum delivery, and ensuring students have access to high-quality resources.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day running of the school library
Promote reading for pleasure through events, displays, and initiatives
Support students with research and independent study
Maintain and develop the library catalogue and resources
Work with teaching staff to support curriculum needs
Organise author visits, reading programmes, and literacy events
Ensure the library remains a welcoming and inclusive environment
What We Are Looking For
Experience working in a library or educational setting
Strong organisational and cataloguing skills
Passion for reading and literacy development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage and inspire young people
Familiarity with library management systems (desirable)
