The Role
The school is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking 2iC Science who can support the strategic and operational leadership of the department while maintaining excellent classroom practice.
Key responsibilities of the 2iC Science include:
Supporting the Head of Science in leading the department across KS3–KS5
Teaching Science, with specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Assisting with curriculum development, assessment, and quality of teaching
Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
Mentoring and supporting teachers, including ECTs within the department
Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate
The successful 2iC Science will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have experience teaching Science across KS3–KS5
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards
Have leadership experience or the ambition to step into a leadership role
Be passionate about supporting both student progress and staff development
