Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons that engage pupils

• Teaching key areas including nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and healthy eating

• Ensuring a safe and organised kitchen environment for all practical lessons

• Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback

• Contributing to curriculum development within the Design and Technology department

• Supporting extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or food-related projects

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related discipline

• Be confident delivering practical cooking lessons in a classroom kitchen environment

• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
