Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4
Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons that engage pupils
Teaching key areas including nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and healthy eating
Ensuring a safe and organised kitchen environment for all practical lessons
Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
Contributing to curriculum development within the Design and Technology department
Supporting extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or food-related projects
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related discipline
Be confident delivering practical cooking lessons in a classroom kitchen environment
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be passionate about food education and promoting healthy lifestyles
Work effectively as part of a collaborative teaching team
