About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, helping students understand social structures, contemporary issues, and sociological theories. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress, and preparing learners for external examinations.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality Sociology lessons aligned with the national curriculum and exam board specifications.
Teaching GCSE and A-Level Sociology, including key sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social issues.
Assessing student work, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
Encouraging discussion, debate, and critical thinking within the classroom.
Supporting students with additional learning needs through targeted interventions.
Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to curriculum development and resource creation.
Promoting awareness of ethical considerations and responsible research practices in Sociology.
Supporting school initiatives, extracurricular activities, and enrichment programs related to the Humanities.
Candidate Requirements
