A Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Croydon (ages 11–18) is seeking a committed and motivated Science Teacher (ECT) to join their supportive and well-resourced Science Department.

About the School

The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong behaviour standards, and excellent support for early career teachers. ECTs benefit from weekly training sessions, coaching from experienced staff, and the opportunity to teach across Biology, Chemistry and Physics depending on strengths. Practical work is well supported by experienced technicians and modern lab facilities.

The Role

As a Science ECT, you will:
• Deliver engaging and well-structured science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Develop pupils’ curiosity, scientific thinking and practical skills.
• Work collaboratively with a knowledgeable Science team, sharing resources and ideas.
• Participate in enrichment opportunities, STEM clubs and science events.
• Receive structured support throughout your two-year ECT induction.

Requirements

• Completing a PGCE (or equivalent) and holding QTS.
• A strong subject background in science (any discipline welcome).
• A passion for inspiring young people to enjoy and pursue science.
• Good behaviour management and clear communication skills.
• A reflective practitioner committed to improving practice.
