About the Role:
The school is seeking a friendly, confident and highly organised Receptionist to welcome visitors, manage the front desk and provide administrative support across the school. You will be responsible for ensuring all visitors feel welcome, safeguarding procedures are followed, and enquiries are handled promptly and professionally. This position requires someone who can multi-task, remain calm during busy periods and communicate clearly.
You will be the “face of the school,” ensuring that every interaction reflects the school’s values and high expectations. The role is ideal for someone who is personable, efficient, resilient and comfortable taking initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, parents, students and external professionals.
• Maintain visitor logs, issue passes and ensure full compliance with safeguarding procedures.
• Answer telephone calls and email enquiries, directing queries appropriately and responding promptly.
• Manage incoming and outgoing post, parcels and deliveries.
• Assist with general administrative tasks including photocopying, filing, letters and document preparation.
• Support attendance and admissions teams where needed.
• Maintain a tidy, professional and welcoming reception environment.
• Communicate daily messages, student collections and announcements to relevant staff.
• Assist staff and students with general enquiries and signposting.
• Provide hospitality for meetings and events as required.
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing tasks.
• Calm, professional demeanour and positive attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems.
• Reliability, punctuality and high attention to detail.
• Experience in a receptionist or administrative role (school experience desirable but not required).
