The Role
The academy is looking for a Food Technology Teacher who can deliver engaging and practical lessons that develop students’ culinary skills, nutritional knowledge, and understanding of food science. Food Technology is a popular subject at GCSE, with strong uptake and positive examination outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
• Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and GCSE (A Level desirable)
• Planning and delivering practical, theory-based, and assessment-focused lessons
• Supporting NEA coursework and moderation processes
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety in food preparation areas
• Tracking student progress and implementing intervention strategies
• Contributing to curriculum development within the Technology Faculty
There is also opportunity to support enrichment activities such as cooking clubs and healthy living initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
• QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or related discipline
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen management
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• Commitment to raising attainment and supporting all learners
