We are seeking a highly experienced School Bursar to join a distinguished school in Winchester. This role is suited for a senior financial professional who can manage the complexities of a large estate while ensuring the school’s long-term fiscal health. You will be a key advisor to the Headteacher and the Board of Governors.

The Snapshot

  • Location: Winchester (Accessible via M3 and South Western Railway)

  • Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (Dependent on experience)

  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Year-round)

  • Focus: Strategic financial planning and investment management.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Preparing annual budgets, three-year forecasts, and monthly management accounts for the Governing Body.

  • Capital Projects: Overseeing the financing and project management of significant building refurbishments and new facility developments.

  • Compliance & Legal: Ensuring the school meets all charitable status requirements, HMRC regulations, and health and safety legislation.

  • HR & Payroll: Managing the support staff payroll and ensuring pension schemes (TPS/LGPS) are administered accurately.
