Role Information

The school is seeking a hands-on, technically skilled DT Technician to support both practical workshop lessons and design-based projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing materials, tools, and resources for DT lessons

• Assisting with CAD/CAM operations including 3D printers and laser cutters

• Maintaining machinery, tools, and workshop equipment

• Supporting students during practical tasks, ensuring safe usage

• Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and tracking inventory

• Ensuring adherence to health & safety and risk assessment requirements

• Assisting with displays, prototype modelling, and coursework support

• Providing technical assistance during GCSE and A-Level project work

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant workshop environment

• Supporting the DT department in delivering high-quality practical learning

This role is ideal for someone practical, safety-conscious, and confident working with tools and machines.

Requirements

• Previous DT Technician or workshop-based experience

• Strong understanding of machinery, tools, and safety procedures

• Ability to use CAD/CAM equipment (training can be provided)

• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
