Role Information

The school is seeking a practical, organised, and creative Art Technician to support teaching staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing materials and resources for Art lessons (ceramics, paint, printmaking, textiles, photography)

• Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment

• Supporting students during practical work, including demonstrations

• Maintaining studios, ensuring clean and safe working environments

• Firing and maintaining kilns, where applicable

• Assisting with displays, exhibitions, and portfolio preparation

• Setting up and packing down workspaces for lessons

• Helping with digital art equipment, cameras, lighting, editing software

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and COSHH requirements

The role is ideal for someone creative, hands-on, and passionate about supporting young artists.

Requirements

• Experience in an art, creative, or technical environment

• Knowledge of a range of artistic techniques and materials

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to support students in practical work

• Understanding of health & safety in art environments

• Good communication and teamwork skills
