Art Teacher – York
A vibrant and well-respected secondary school in York is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Art Teacher to join its Art Department. This is a full-time, permanent role, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about inspiring creativity and delivering high-quality visual arts education.

The Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging Art lessons, foster creativity, and encourage students to develop their technical and conceptual skills. Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and where applicable, Key Stage 5.
Supporting students in practical projects, promoting experimentation, problem-solving, and individual expression.
Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback and reports.
Contributing to curriculum development, lesson planning, and resource management.
Encouraging students to participate in exhibitions, competitions, and enrichment activities.
Maintaining a safe and inspiring studio environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Art.
Practical experience with a wide range of artistic media and techniques.
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
Commitment to health and safety in practical lessons.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
