Role Information
The school is seeking an experienced, strategic, and detail-focused Finance Manager to oversee financial operations across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the finance team and overseeing daily financial processes
Managing budgeting cycles, financial forecasting, and long-term strategic planning
Producing management accounts, reports, and financial statements
Overseeing fee billing, credit control, and parent account management
Ensuring compliance with independent school financial standards and charity regulations
Liaising with auditors, governors, and senior leaders
Managing payroll oversight, procurement, and financial controls
Monitoring expenditure and advising heads of departments on budgets
Identifying opportunities for cost-efficiency and improved financial systems
Maintaining robust financial procedures and safeguarding school assets
This role requires exceptional organisation, financial accuracy, and strong leadership.
Requirements
Finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent desirable)
Significant experience in school or charity finance
Strong understanding of budgeting, audits, and financial compliance
Experience leading finance teams
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Strong IT skills including financial software
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
