Role Information

The school is seeking a skilled and proactive Art Technician to support the Art Department in maintaining resources, preparing materials, and assisting with classroom and studio activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and organising materials, tools, and equipment for lessons

• Supporting teachers with demonstrations, resources, and practical tasks

• Maintaining and cleaning brushes, tools, equipment, and storage areas

• Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and monitoring budgets

• Setting up and clearing studio spaces for lessons and workshops

• Assisting with kiln firing, ceramics preparation, and glazing materials

• Supporting digital art processes (scanning, photography, printing)

• Helping with art displays, exhibitions, and internal showcases

• Ensuring all equipment and spaces comply with health & safety standards

• Cataloguing and storing student work securely and professionally

• Supporting GCSE & A Level students with materials and technical guidance

Requirements

• Experience working in an art, creative, or technical environment

• Strong practical knowledge of art materials, tools, and equipment

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to support both teachers and students effectively

• IT skills for digital art and photography tasks

• Understanding of health & safety procedures in art studios

• A creative, proactive, and collaborative attitude
