Exams & Admissions Officer – Independent Senior School – West London
A well-established independent senior school in West London is seeking an experienced and highly organised Exams & Admissions Officer to oversee two of the school’s most critical administrative functions. This is a central role within the school’s operations team, requiring precision, discretion and the ability to manage complex processes calmly and efficiently.
The school educates approximately 800 pupils aged 11–18 and is known for its academic rigour, strong pastoral system and well-structured internal procedures. The administrative team operates at a high professional standard, reflecting the expectations of both families and senior leadership.
The Role
This dual-function position combines responsibility for internal and external examinations with coordination of the school’s admissions processes.
Examinations
You will manage the full examination cycle, including:
Registration and entries for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Liaison with examination boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.)
Production of examination timetables and rooming plans
Invigilator recruitment, training and coordination
Processing access arrangements in collaboration with the SENDCo
Secure handling and storage of examination materials
Results day coordination and post-results services (remarks, appeals)
Compliance with JCQ regulations and annual inspections
The school maintains high academic standards, and attention to exam detail is paramount.
Admissions
You will also oversee the admissions journey from initial enquiry to enrolment:
Managing prospective family enquiries and school visits
Coordinating entrance assessments and interview schedules
Maintaining applicant databases
Issuing offer letters and managing acceptance documentation
Supporting transition processes for new pupils
The admissions process is structured and well-supported by senior leadership, but requires warmth and professionalism when engaging with families.

About You
Previous experience as an Exams Officer in a secondary school (essential)
Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and compliance requirements
Experience managing admissions processes (desirable)
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Confident communicator with both staff and parents
High level of accuracy and discretion
Comfortable working with MIS systems and exam portals
Experience within the independent sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
