The Role

• Leading and managing the Design & Technology department across KS3, KS4, and KS5

• Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment

• Developing an ambitious, industry-relevant DT curriculum

• Overseeing workshop safety, machinery compliance, and risk assessments

• Line managing and mentoring DT staff

• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing attainment strategies

• Managing departmental budgets and contributing to strategic planning

• Supporting whole-school improvement and leadership initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Design & Technology or related discipline

• Proven experience teaching DT at secondary level, including examination groups

• Prior leadership experience within a department

• A strong track record of raising standards and improving outcomes

• Excellent organisational and strategic leadership skills

• Strong knowledge of workshop health & safety compliance
