The Role

• Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 depending on specialism

• Delivering engaging, well-structured practical and theoretical lessons

• Supporting pupils with project-based learning, NEA, and coursework development

• Developing pupils’ creativity, resilience, and technical precision

• Ensuring workshop health & safety compliance and risk assessment procedures

• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted strategies to raise attainment

• Contributing to curriculum refinement and departmental development planning

• Supporting wider whole-school improvement initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Design & Technology or a related discipline

• Experience teaching secondary DT across KS3 and KS4

• Strong classroom management and workshop leadership skills

• Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations within practical environments

• A commitment to raising standards and improving pupil outcomes

• A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach
