A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Lowestoft is looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to start as soon as possible. This is a critical role in our pastoral team; you will be the bridge between the school and the home, ensuring that every child is safe, accounted for, and supported in their educational journey.

Location: Lowestoft, Suffolk (Coastal location with good local rail links)
Salary: Suffolk County Council Grade (Competitive)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Requirement: A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for home visits is essential.
Detailed Responsibilities
Data Analysis: Monitoring patterns of absence across different student cohorts and providing weekly reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
Parental Engagement: Chairing attendance panels with parents and carers to discuss the impact of absence on academic progress and wellbeing.
Safeguarding: Acting as a key link to the Safeguarding team, identifying students whose absence may indicate wider welfare concerns.
Celebration of Success: Leading on school-wide initiatives to celebrate high attendance, including assemblies and certificate ceremonies.
