A leading independent school in Maidenhead is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) in Psychology to join its thriving Humanities department. About the Role
As a Psychology ECT, you will teach KS4 and KS5 Psychology (GCSE and A-Level), inspiring students to engage critically with psychological theory, research, and real-world applications. You will receive structured mentoring, regular feedback, and ongoing professional development to help you thrive in your first teaching role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Psychology lessons across KS4–KS5.
Support students’ understanding of key concepts, research methods, and exam preparation.
Monitor student progress and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
Collaborate with department colleagues to share good practice and resources.
Participate in co-curricular and enrichment opportunities, including clubs, trips, and events.
Contribute positively to the school’s academic and pastoral culture.
ECT Support & Development
Dedicated subject mentor and induction tutor.
Reduced timetable in line with the ECF framework.
Structured weekly coaching, observations, and feedback.

What We’re Looking For
A degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to achieve by September 2026.
Enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and student development.
Willingness to learn, reflect, and develop professional practice.
Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
