Teacher of Maths - Newham Independent School (March start)

We are working with a leading independent school in Newham to find an articulate and logical Mathematics Teacher for a March start. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for an ECT looking to start their career in an environment where Mathematics is the most popular subject at the senior level.

It provides a tranquil, scholarly environment where student behaviour is exemplary and academic aspiration is the norm. The Mathematics faculty is a collaborative and high-achieving team that utilises a mastery-led approach. New teachers are supported with a bespoke professional development programme that focuses on honing pedagogical depth and advanced mathematical instruction.

The Role The teacher will deliver Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to A-Level further down the line. The focus is on building foundational confidence and stretching high-achieving GCSE candidates through complex problem-solving. The school values a teacher who can deconstruct abstract concepts into clear, digestible steps while maintaining a high pace of learning.

Requirements

  • QTS and a degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.

  • The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

  • Excellent communication skills and a logical, professional approach to classroom management.

Salary M1 – UPS3 (£40,317 – £62,496) per annum.
