We are currently recruiting for a proactive and organised Science Technician to join the thriving Science Department of a well-established and highly regarded secondary school in Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in science and strong practical skills to play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The Role

Working alongside teaching staff and the Lead Science Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing apparatus, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons

• Setting up and dismantling experiments in line with health and safety regulations

• Managing, maintaining and ordering laboratory stock and equipment

• Providing in-class support during practical sessions where required

• Ensuring laboratories are safe, tidy and fully compliant with current legislation

• Supporting risk assessments and the safe storage and handling of chemicals

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking someone who:

• Has a background in science (either academically or through practical experience)

• Is dependable, well-organised and capable of working independently

• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of health and safety procedures

• Works effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment

• Previous experience as a Science Technician would be advantageous, although full training will be provided
