Computer Science ECT | Islington (Exceptional Secondary)

We are working with an "Exceptional" rated academy in Islington to find a logical and innovative Computer Science ECT for a March start. This full-time, permanent role is situated within a high-performing STEM faculty that is at the cutting edge of technological education in North London.

About the School Located in a vibrant part of Islington, this school is known for its rigorous academic standards and its "no-excuses" culture regarding student achievement. The Computer Science department is exceptionally well-resourced, featuring the latest software and hardware to support coding, robotics, and cybersecurity. For an ECT, the school offers a world-class coaching model and a highly supportive staff community that values innovation and teacher wellbeing.

The Role The teacher will deliver Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, focusing on building computational thinking and programming proficiency in Python. The school values a teacher who can deconstruct complex concepts into digestible steps and who is passionate about preparing students for a digital future. You will have the opportunity to lead coding clubs and contribute to the school’s borough-wide STEM initiatives.

Requirements

  • QTS and a degree in Computer Science or a related IT discipline.

  • The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

  • Excellent technical skills and a passion for student engagement.

Salary M1 – UPS3 (£40,317 – £62,496) per annum.
