We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Biology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Birmingham, starting ASAP. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will support students of varying abilities, ensuring all learners are challenged, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons in line with the national curriculum

• Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

• Assess, track, and monitor student progress effectively

• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in the classroom

• Prepare students for GCSE and, where applicable, A-level examinations

• Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources

• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the science department

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress

• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Have a strong subject knowledge in Biology

• Have experience teaching Biology at secondary level

• Be enthusiastic, organised, and reflective in their practice

• Have strong classroom management skills

• Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
