History Teacher role - ECT Support - Islington Exceptional School
We are working with a leading secondary school in Islington who are recruiting a scholarly and engaging History ECT for an immediate start. This is a school where History isn't just about dates—it’s about inquiry, debate, and understanding the world we live in today.
The Role This permanent, full-time position is for an ECT who is genuinely excited by historiography. The successful candidate will teach a broad and diverse curriculum across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop the critical thinking and writing skills they need for future success.

Responsibilities
Teaching History across all key stages, fostering a genuine love for the subject.
Contributing to the school’s History Society and leading academic debating clubs.
Providing detailed, helpful feedback that encourages students to think deeper.
Participating in whole-school CPD and collaborative planning sessions.
Requirements
QTS (or pending) and a strong academic record in History.
The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
A valid enhanced DBS.
Salary M1 – UPS3 (£40,317 – £62,496) per annum.
