SEN Teacher – Enfield
We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Enfield, starting ASAP. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about providing high-quality education for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.

You will work closely with the SENCO, leadership team, and class teachers to deliver tailored learning programmes and interventions for pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. Staff in the SEN department are highly valued, and there is a strong focus on professional development, collaboration, and support for all team members.
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing personalised learning programmes, monitoring pupil progress, and ensuring that teaching strategies meet the specific needs of each child. You will play a key role in preparing pupils for successful transitions and helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside their academic development.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN
Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress using appropriate strategies and tools
Develop and implement individualised learning plans, including EHCP targets
Provide specialist support and guidance to classroom teachers and support staff
Work closely with the SENCO to review interventions and outcomes regularly
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support
Maintain accurate records of pupil achievement and progress
Promote inclusion and a positive, supportive learning environment
Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Have proven experience teaching pupils with a range of SEN
Be confident in adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs
Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be patient, resilient, and empathetic
Possess strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities
Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
