We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Reading, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys upper Key Stage 2 and is committed to helping pupils reach their full potential academically and personally.

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the curriculum, while supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum

• Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN

• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations

• Maintain a well-organised, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment

• Work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Contribute to staff meetings, planning, and school events

• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development

• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

• Have recent experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5

• Be enthusiastic, organised, and reflective in practice

• Have strong classroom management and communication skills

• Be a positive team player

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
