Key Responsibilities:
Data Management: Daily monitoring of attendance registers using the school’s Management Information System (SIMS) to identify trends and persistent absence.
Parental Liaison: Conducting "First Day" calls and meetings with parents/carers to discuss attendance concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Home Visits: Traveling across the island to conduct welfare checks and support families who are struggling with school school engagement.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working alongside the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture and local social work teams to support vulnerable learners.
Legal Compliance: Ensuring all attendance records meet the statutory requirements of the Education (Guernsey) Law.
The School Environment
Guernsey schools offer a close-knit, supportive atmosphere where every child is known. With a curriculum tailored to the island’s needs but aligned with UK standards, the schools benefit from strong community involvement and high levels of investment in student wellbeing.
Why live and work in Guernsey?
Quality of Life: Enjoy a commute-free lifestyle with beautiful coastal scenery and a high standard of public safety.
Favourable Tax: Benefit from Guernsey’s 20% flat income tax rate and the absence of VAT.
Professional Impact: In a small jurisdiction, your work has a visible and immediate impact on the community’s young people.
