Teacher of Music (ECT Support) - Exceptional Secondary School in Barnet

We are working with an "Exceptional" secondary academy in Barnet recruiting for a talented and versatile Music ECT. This school offers an incredible platform for a new teacher to make their mark in a community that values the arts.

About the Role This is a permanent role for an ECT who is a skilled musician and a dedicated educator. You will teach Music across all key stages, utilising the school’s professional-grade recording studios and performance spaces to inspire the next generation of performers.

About the School This Barnet school prides itself on being a hub of creative innovation. It features a brand-new performing arts block and offers an exceptional ECT induction program with a dedicated mentor. Staff enjoy a supportive atmosphere, a "Cycle to Work" scheme, and regular wellbeing initiatives in a green, suburban setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging practical and theoretical Music lessons across KS3–KS4

  • Oversee extra-curricular ensembles, including the school orchestra and choir.

  • Manage and maintain the department's technical equipment and instruments.

  • Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level practical examinations.

Requirements

  • QTS (or pending) with a specialism in Music.

  • The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

  • Valid enhanced DBS.

Salary M1 – UPS3 (£37,870 – £56,154) per annum.
