Site Assistant – Brixton
We are seeking a reliable, practical, and proactive Site Assistant to join a busy and welcoming primary school in Brixton, starting as soon as possible. This is a hands-on role essential for ensuring the school site is safe, well-maintained, and fully operational for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The Site Assistant plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school, assisting with maintenance, security, and the smooth operation of facilities. As a Site Assistant, you will support the maintenance and operation of the school site, assist with health and safety compliance, and provide practical support for events and daily activities. Your work will help create a secure and welcoming environment where pupils can learn and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Support the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and facilities
Monitor and maintain health, safety, and security across the site
Assist with minor repairs, cleaning, and general upkeep
Support the setup and takedown of school events, classrooms, and activities
Liaise with contractors and external service providers when required
Carry out regular site inspections to identify and report issues
Ensure tools, equipment, and machinery are stored safely and used appropriately
Follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in site work, facilities management, or premises support
Be practical, hands-on, and proactive in addressing issues
Have a good understanding of health and safety regulations
Be reliable, organised, and able to prioritise tasks effectively
