We are seeking a confident, motivated, and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and high-achieving primary school in Streatham, starting as soon as possible. As the Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school in a positive, encouraging way. You will support pupils academically and emotionally, helping them build resilience, independence, and self-belief.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum

• Prepare pupils for SATs using supportive and effective strategies

• Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

• Use assessment data to track progress and plan targeted interventions

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence

• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing during a demanding academic year

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress

• Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives

• Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks

• Be organised, confident, and calm under pressure

• Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development

• Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
