Year 6 Teacher – Streatham
We are seeking a confident, motivated, and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and high-achieving primary school in Streatham, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who thrives in Upper Key Stage 2 and is passionate about preparing pupils for the transition to secondary education.

As the Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school in a positive, encouraging way. You will support pupils academically and emotionally, helping them build resilience, independence, and self-belief.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Prepare pupils for SATs using supportive and effective strategies
Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Use assessment data to track progress and plan targeted interventions
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence
Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing during a demanding academic year
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks
Be organised, confident, and calm under pressure
Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development
Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
