Year 2 Teacher – Twickenham
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and nurturing Year 2 Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Twickenham, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and is passionate about supporting pupils through a crucial transition year into Key Stage 2.

As the Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum while supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. You will play an important role in preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments in a positive and encouraging way, ensuring they feel confident and well-supported.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum
Support pupils in preparation for KS1 assessments in a calm and structured manner
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Use assessment data to monitor progress and plan targeted support
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and a love of learning
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks
Be nurturing, organised, and enthusiastic
Have strong classroom management and communication skills
Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development
Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
