KS1 Teacher – Cambridge
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Cambridge, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who loves teaching Key Stage 1 and enjoys creating engaging lessons that foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will support pupils’ learning in literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects while fostering independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours. Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents, you will ensure each pupil receives consistent, personalised support to meet their individual learning needs.
You will monitor pupil progress, deliver targeted interventions when necessary, and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment. You will also support pupils transitioning from EYFS, helping them consolidate foundational skills and build confidence as they progress in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across KS1
Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
Support enrichment activities, school events, and extra-curricular opportunities
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 1
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, adaptable, and proactive
Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
Work effectively as part of a professional and supportive team
