We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Gravesend, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys preparing pupils for secondary school while delivering engaging, high-quality lessons.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will foster independence, resilience, and a love of learning while ensuring every pupil achieves their academic potential. Collaboration with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents is essential to provide personalised support for every pupil.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum

• Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons

• Prepare pupils effectively for SATs and secondary school transition

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL

• Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours

• Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

• Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records

• Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

• Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

• Support enrichment activities, school events, and extra-curricular opportunities

• Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable

• Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

• Work collaboratively as part of a professional, supportive team
