French Teacher (ECT) – Wetherby, West Yorkshire
A welcoming and academically focused 11–18 secondary school in Wetherby is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher of French to join its Modern Foreign Languages department. This role is ideal for an ECT who is passionate about language learning and is looking to begin their career in a school with strong systems, excellent mentoring and a positive staff culture.

The Opportunity
You will teach French across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering a carefully structured curriculum that develops students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills progressively.
At KS3, lessons focus on phonics, vocabulary acquisition and sentence-building, helping students gain confidence in speaking from an early stage. At GCSE, teaching is structured around clear exam preparation, retrieval practice and regular opportunities for extended writing and translation.
As an ECT, you’ll be supported in developing effective classroom routines, assessment strategies and approaches to teaching grammar in a clear and accessible way.
