Learning Support Assistant – Plumstead
We are seeking a committed, compassionate, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Plumstead, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs and helping them achieve confidence, independence, and success within the classroom.

Staff work collaboratively to ensure that children with additional needs are fully included in school life and are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and other support staff to provide targeted support for pupils who require additional help with their learning. This may include working one-to-one, supporting small groups, or assisting pupils within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support for pupils
Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Help pupils access the curriculum and stay focused during lessons
Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
Support pupils’ social and emotional development
Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress
Implement strategies and interventions as directed by the teacher or SENCo
Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and CPD
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
