SEN 1:1 – Richmond
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Richmond, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and making a tangible difference in their academic and personal development.

The Role
As an SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide dedicated support for a pupil with specific learning or behavioural needs. You will provide one-to-one interventions, in-class assistance, and emotional support to ensure the pupil can access the curriculum and develop their confidence, independence, and resilience.
You will also liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide consistent support and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
Observe, record, and report on pupil progress
Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to deliver personalised support
Support the pupil during transitions, structured activities, and break times
Contribute to staff meetings, training, and school initiatives
Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
