Year 3 Teacher – Basildon
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed Year 3 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Basildon, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 2 and enjoys delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.

Staff work closely together to ensure all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL, are supported to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Senior leadership is approachable, supportive, and committed to staff development, providing mentoring, guidance, and training opportunities.
As a Year 3 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will foster positive learning behaviours, build pupils’ confidence and independence, and ensure that every child receives the support they need to succeed. Collaboration with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents is central to maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 3 curriculum
Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
Support enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team
