SEN Teacher – Stockport
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Stockport, starting as soon as possible. As an SEN Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons and interventions for pupils with additional needs. You will work alongside teaching assistants and class teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), provide targeted support, and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils. You will also liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure coordinated and effective support for every child.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons and interventions for pupils with SEND
Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Collaborate with class teachers and teaching assistants to support inclusive learning
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with additional learning needs
Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and external professionals
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary school setting
Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable to meet diverse pupil needs
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, proactive, and collaborative
Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
