The role involves responsibility for the effective operation, safety, and long-term development of the school’s estate, including classrooms, sports facilities, and grounds. You will manage estates staff and contractors, ensure statutory compliance, and work closely with senior leaders to maintain a safe, high-quality learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall management of school buildings, grounds, and facilities

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and statutory requirements

• Planning and overseeing maintenance schedules and capital projects

• Line management of estates, caretaking, and facilities staff

• Managing contractor relationships and service agreements

• Supporting school operations, events, and long-term estate planning

Experience and Qualifications

• Proven experience in an Estates Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar role

• Strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and building management

• Experience managing teams, budgets, and contractors

• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to operate effectively in a busy school environment

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
