SEN Teacher – Dulwich
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Dulwich, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and has experience working with pupils who have a range of special educational needs. You will play a key role in ensuring that all pupils can access the curriculum, make excellent progress, and develop confidence and independence.

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons, tailored to the specific needs of pupils. You will work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and evidence-based strategies that support learning, behaviour, and social development. You will also liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure that pupils receive coordinated and effective support.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs
Implement IEPs and monitor progress towards targets
Provide both individual and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure inclusive learning
Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
Communicate effectively with parents and carers about pupils’ progress and needs
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the welfare of all pupils
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching pupils with SEN in a primary setting
Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable to meet diverse pupil needs
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, proactive, and collaborative
Have a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
