Teacher of History (ECT Support) - Haringey Outstanding School
We are working with an Ofsted-rated "Outstanding" secondary school in Haringey recruiting for a History ECT. This is a scholarly environment where the Humanities are celebrated as a core pillar of the academic curriculum.

The ECT Experience The school provides a robust framework for new teachers to excel, focusing on long-term career progression and subject mastery.
Subject Specialist Mentoring: Your mentor will be a senior member of the Humanities faculty, offering specific guidance on historiography and source analysis pedagogy.
Collaborative Planning: You will take part in weekly "subject-intellectual" meetings where the department discusses historical scholarship to inform their teaching.
Early Leadership: For ambitious ECTs, there are opportunities to shadow senior leaders and lead on specific curriculum modules early in your tenure.
The Role & Department You will teach History across all key stages, focusing on the development of coherent historical arguments and sophisticated writing skills.
Evidence-Based Practice: The department utilises teacher-led instruction and high-level questioning to stretch students of all abilities.
Cultural Capital: Supporting the "History Society" and preparing students for university-level enquiries and scholarships.
Salary Range: £40,317 – £62,496 (M1 – UPS3)
