Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Midday Meal Supervisor include:
Supervision of Pupils
Overseeing children in dining halls, classrooms, corridors, and playgrounds
Ensuring safety, monitoring behaviour, and intervening when necessary
Supporting Mealtimes
Helping younger or vulnerable children during meals
Encouraging polite behaviour and independence at the table
Managing Play and Social Interaction
Supervising outdoor and indoor play
Promoting inclusive games and teamwork
Encouraging children to resolve minor conflicts peacefully
Providing Emotional Support
Assisting pupils who feel anxious, upset, or overwhelmed
Being a friendly, approachable adult they can trust
Health, Safety, and First Aid
Awareness of allergies, dietary needs, and medical conditions
Administering basic first aid when necessary (training provided)
Reporting accidents, incidents, or safeguarding concerns promptly
