Midday Meal Supervisor – Make Every Lunchtime Count
Location: Boston, Lincolnshire
Organisation: MDMS – School Support Services
Contract Type: Part-Time | Term-Time Only
Hours: Approximately 1–2 hours per day, Monday to Friday
Why Lunchtime Matters
Every school day, there is a moment when classrooms empty, the playground comes alive, and children take a break from lessons. This is lunchtime — a critical part of a child’s day where friendships are formed, social skills are practiced, and energy is refocused for the afternoon ahead.
MDMS is recruiting Midday Meal Supervisors to work in primary schools across Boston. This is not just a supervision role — it’s about being a trusted adult who ensures children feel safe, supported, and confident during one of the busiest parts of the school day.
Your Role and Impact
As a Midday Meal Supervisor, you will:
Supervise pupils during lunch, ensuring safe movement in dining areas and corridors
Support children who need encouragement or assistance during meals
Promote good manners and respectful behaviour
Oversee outdoor and indoor play activities
Manage low-level behaviour issues calmly and consistently
Encourage inclusive play, teamwork, and cooperation
Be observant of children’s wellbeing and offer reassurance when needed
Administer basic first aid where necessary (training provided)
Report accidents, incidents, or safeguarding concerns according to school policies
Your role is vital in creating a lunchtime environment where every child can thrive. For some children, your support will help them navigate social challenges; for others, you’ll be the familiar adult who makes lunchtime fun and safe.
