SEN Teaching Assistant – Ipswich
We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Ipswich, starting as soon as possible. The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis, supporting them in class with learning tasks, social skills, and emotional development. You will assist in implementing strategies outlined in pupils’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and help monitor and record progress.
Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEN
Assist with classroom learning activities and differentiated tasks
Support the implementation of IEP targets and strategies
Encourage independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
Observe and record pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
