EYFS Teaching Assistant – Cambridge
We are seeking a patient, enthusiastic, and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Cambridge, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children’s first year of school, helping them develop key skills across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering structured and play-based learning activities. You will help children develop literacy, numeracy, social, and emotional skills, and provide additional support to pupils who require personalised assistance.
You will assist with observations, assessments, and maintaining accurate records of pupil progress, while fostering a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support classroom activities and play-based learning in EYFS
Assist with observations and assessment of pupil progress
Provide targeted support for pupils who require additional guidance
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
Support children’s social, emotional, and communication development
Work collaboratively with teachers and EYFS staff
Maintain a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents
