Year 5 Teacher – Gloucester
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gloucester, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that challenge and support pupils to reach their full potential.

The Role
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons across all areas of the curriculum, track pupil progress, and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils. You will foster independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours in your classroom.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, KS2 colleagues, and senior leaders to ensure high standards are maintained across the year group. Communicating effectively with parents and carers is also a key part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
Track and monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Communicate with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school improvement initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be proactive, reflective, and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
