Year 4 Teacher – Swindon
We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Swindon, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys delivering engaging lessons that develop pupils’ knowledge, skills, and confidence.

The Role
As a Year 4 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the national curriculum. You will support pupils as they consolidate their learning and develop independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, Key Stage 2 colleagues, and senior leaders to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all pupils. Building strong relationships with parents and carers will also be an essential part of the role, ensuring shared support for pupils’ progress.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 4 curriculum
Track pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and Key Stage 2 colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 2
Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
