SEN Teaching Assistant – Ealing
We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ealing, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a meaningful difference to their daily school experience.
The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils receive consistent, personalised support within a nurturing and structured environment. Leadership places strong emphasis on inclusion, teamwork, and staff wellbeing.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to support pupils both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You may work one-to-one with pupils or support small groups, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and build independence.
You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning, ensuring pupils feel safe, supported, and confident throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Support learning activities across the curriculum
Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Help pupils develop independence and confidence
Support classroom routines and transitions
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff
Communicate effectively with parents and professionals when required
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
