EYFS Teaching Assistant – Peterborough
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Peterborough, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to work with young children in Nursery and Reception, providing vital support to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering learning activities for both Nursery and Reception pupils. You will assist with group and individual learning, help maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment, and observe pupils’ progress to provide feedback that informs future planning.
You will also communicate effectively with colleagues and, when appropriate, parents and carers to ensure the best outcomes for children. Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in planning and delivering learning activities
Assist with group work and individual pupil support
Observe and record pupils’ progress in line with the EYFS framework
Maintain a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
