Nursery Teacher – Stratford-upon-Avon
We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and experienced Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children at the very start of their educational journey, providing high-quality care and learning experiences that lay the foundation for future success.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Nursery class, delivering creative, engaging, and child-centred lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, play-based learning, and pupil wellbeing, creating a positive and collaborative environment for staff and children alike.
You will be joining a supportive Early Years team, where planning, reflective practice, and professional development are actively encouraged. Senior leaders are approachable and committed to staff wellbeing and career growth.
The Role
As a Nursery Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess stimulating learning experiences that develop children’s skills across all areas of the EYFS. You will create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and confidence. Observation and assessment will be central to your practice, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive.
You will work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to ensure high-quality provision across the Early Years phase. Building strong partnerships with parents and carers is essential to support children’s development both in school and at home.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality EYFS lessons
Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress accurately
Use assessment to inform planning and next steps
Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and communication skills
Collaborate with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in EYFS or Nursery settings
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic
Possess excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement
Show a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Early Career Teachers are welcome and will receive mentoring and support.
